A PDF editor that doesn't upload your file

The big online PDF suites are genuinely good software, and they all work the same way: you upload the document, their servers do the work, and you download the result. For a menu or a flyer that's fine. For a contract, a payslip, a medical form or anything with an ID number on it, you've handed a copy to a third party. This page is the honest comparison, including the jobs they do better than we do.

Pick theirs if…

You need OCR on a scan, conversion to and from Office formats, batch processing, a team account, or a certified digital signature with an audit trail. Those are real features we simply don't have, and no amount of privacy makes up for a missing capability you actually need.

Pick ours if…

The document is sensitive and you'd rather it didn't leave your machine, or you want to sign, edit, redact or reorder without an account, a daily limit or a watermark. If you can do the job in a browser without uploading, there's no reason to upload.

The thinking behind it

We wrote the guides first and built the tool because we kept needing it.
